"Raised in the shadow of Windsor Castle, I've spent a lifetime falling in love with the stories this corner of England has to tell."
A lifetime falling in love with the stories this corner of England has to tell.
My name is Deborah, and I grew up in Windsor — walking the same streets, crossing the same bridges, and looking up at the same castle walls that have defined this remarkable part of the Thames Valley for nearly a thousand years. That childhood curiosity never left me. If anything, a degree in History only deepened it.
Timeless Walking Tours was born from a simple conviction: that the best way to truly experience a place is to walk through it slowly, with the right story in your ear at exactly the right moment. Every tour I create is deeply researched, carefully written, and narrated with genuine affection for the places and the people behind them.
From the ancient playing fields and tailors of Eton High Street, where you'll uncover the extraordinary history of Eton College and its world-famous alumni, to the grandeur of Windsor Castle and the Royal Long Walk, where almost a thousand years of monarchy come to life step by step — the Thames Valley has stories at every corner.
At Runnymede, those stories take on a different weight entirely. Walk the riverside meadows where King John sealed Magna Carta in 1215, visit the John F. Kennedy Memorial, and feel the quiet power of a landscape where the foundations of modern democracy were laid. Nearby, high on Cooper's Hill, the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial tells a more personal and profoundly moving story — the names of over 20,000 airmen and women of the Second World War, inscribed in stone, overlooking the river they gave their lives to protect.
And then there's Richmond — a little further afield, but impossible to leave off the list. The Ted Lasso Walking Tour takes you through the charming streets of Richmond-upon-Thames, visiting the real filming locations of the beloved Apple TV+ series, while discovering the genuine history and beautiful architecture that made the show's creators fall for this corner of London in the first place.
Five walks. Five very different stories. One deeply loved region.
I hope my tours leave you seeing the Thames Valley the way I do — not just as a collection of landmarks, but as a living, breathing place with centuries of extraordinary stories still waiting to be heard.
